Why choose Dental Crowns?

Although America fought against the tyranny of the Crown, as dentists, we find that crowns do have their uses. Many times damage to teeth is substantial enough to require added protection. A dental crown provides that protection and can get those teeth back to a place of health and function.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A crown is a dental restoration designed to protect a tooth that has sustained structural damage from a crack, decay, or trauma. It completely covers and replaces the protective outer layer of your tooth. Crowns can be made from a variety of different materials, each one with different strengths and esthetics. The dentists at Tippit Dental Group will recommend the ideal crown to match the shape, function, and color of your natural teeth so your smile will have a seamless appearance.

Everyone is incredibly friendly. They are always on time. They seem to be genuinely concerned about their patients. I would never go anywhere else.

What to Expect

01

Dental crowns are made in a lab after your dentist prepares the tooth and takes an impression of its shape. The lab will make a crown that looks and feels like a natural tooth, balancing both strength and esthetics.

02

Your crown will usually be placed at a second appointment although some types of crowns can be placed the same day.

03

The crown will be adjusted and checked for proper fit prior to placing it in the mouth. The finished product should feel natural and blend in with the other teeth.

I've been a patient at Tippit Dental Group for close to 30 years. My dentists and hygienists have changed over time, but I have always felt I received top-rated care with a personal touch! My current hygienist, Jennifer, is a joy. She cleans my teeth well, without causing much pain! Her only bad habit is asking a question about my family while she has my mouth wide open and I cannot answer... :-)

From one small business owner to another, Tippit does a fantastic job at serving their clients. They are friendly, efficient, and make the experience enjoyable (as much as a visit to the dentist can be), and I am confident in their knowledge and expertise. Would recommend!

Great experience. Everyone is so nice and professional. Everything was explained to me as well as a plan for my care. Definitely recommend. Plus they got me in the same day I inquired into starting services.

FAQs

How do I care for my crown?

Caring for your crown is essential to ensure its longevity. Brushing, flossing, and keeping up your regular dental cleanings is the best insurance for your dentistry.

If you have a nightguard, it is important that you wear it regularly to protect your crown. Clenching and grinding your teeth can damage both your crowns and your natural teeth. Taking care of your restorations will extend their function and appearance.
